Historic Rittenhouse Square is one of Philadelphia’s most beloved neighborhoods. The square itself, which was named one of America’s best public spaces, was designed by William Penn as he drew up the city plans for Philadelphia. Originally named Southwest Square, it was renamed to honor David Rittenhouse, a prominent Philadelphian and contemporary of Benjamin Franklin.
Unlike the other original city squares in Philadelphia, which were quickly surrounded by dense residencies and even used as public burial grounds, Rittenhouse Square remained in a relatively undeveloped part of the city until the mid-19th century. Because of this, it was developed as a place for luxury living from the very start.
TWO SIX TWO will usher in a new era of luxury for this fantastic neighborhood. You’ll be able to walk to some of the city’s top restaurants and most exclusive stores, and the nearby train station makes is easy to get to other parts of the city—and beyond.
